Picking Up the Pieces: Moving Forward
After Surviving Cancer
Edited by Sherri Magee and Kathy Scalzo
Once cancer treatment finishes, the survivor has the task of resuming everyday life.
However, this can be more of a challenge than expected. This book uses the metaphor
of assembling a jigsaw puzzle to describe the four phases involved in the recovery
process after cancer.-
Phase 1: Inquiry, which is like finding the four corners of the puzzle.
- Phase 2: Discovery, which is like filling in the edges of the puzzle.
- Phase 3: Growth, which is like working toward the center of the puzzle.
- Phase 4: Reflection, which is like standing back and looking at the completed puzzle.
In each of the sections of the book, there are sets of questions and daily practices
designed to support the reader in reclaiming mind, body, and spirit to move forward
with the recovery journey. |
