The Rotary Club of Peoria - North recently granted $1000 to the Cancer Center for Healthy Living for the Information & Referral Program. CCHL will produce a referral DVD to share within the community to help people understand our services and increase referrals.
Tracy Holder, Executive Director, will be a guest of the club on April 17th to receive the grant check.

The Peoria Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced grants from the 2007 Komen Peoria Race for the Cure today at Northwoods Mall in Peoria.
The Cancer Center for Healthy Living was awarded $19,800 for the Strength, Hope and Empowerment project to provide supportive and educational services through networking groups, support groups, individual counseling and educational seminars.
Additionally, an award of $6661 was made to the “Fighting Breast Cancer with a Fork” program, providing free nutrition services to breast cancer survivors. Services will include nutrition classes, cooking demonstrations, newsletter articles, educational handouts and one-on-one nutrition counseling provided by CCHL’s licensed and registered dietitian.
The Cancer Center for Healthy Living is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $45,000 matching (1:1) grant for the year of 2008 by the Coleman Foundation of Chicago. This grant will be used to help us expand our counseling services to Peoria cancer patients. The Northwoods Community Church cancer support group will be hosting a presentation by Dr. Michael Veeder, MD on Tuesday November 6th, 2007. The presentation will be from 6:30-8 pm that evening at Northwoods. The public is welcome to attend!
CCHL is pleased to announce we have received a $1400 grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois for our Breaking Boundaries project aimed at increasing awareness amongst the minority and underserved population of Peoria and the surrounding communities.
