Private or individual yoga therapy is a way of personalizing the practices to meet each person’s specific needs and goals. The pace, postures, breath work, and imagery are all selected based on the clients circumstances and current state of health. In a private session, the client and therapist will discuss the client’s goals and needs, and then the client will be provided with a customized practice based on the information provided. For example, some postures are designed to energize and strengthen, while others specifically target relaxation and calming. Also, certain postures are cleansing and healing for different organs in the body. The same is true for breathing exercises; they each have a specific effect on the energetic and nervous systems. Thus, a personal practice will directly address the needs of the student. Please call 693-8139 to schedule an individual yoga session. There is a $20/hour fee for this service.

Gentle Aerobics – Tuesdays at 9:00am

Living Strong – Fridays at 9:00am
Beth Stauffer
A gentle strength training class designed for before, during, and after cancer. Benefits include increased muscle mass, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Participants also experience increased self-esteem, a sense of control, and an improved quality of sleep. Perhaps the greatest benefit is the ability to combat fatigue – a side effect that often interferes the most with daily life and cherished activities. There are levels available to suit all mobility and strength levels. No strength training experience is needed.

Tai Ji – Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm

An ancient Chinese discipline which uses gentle movements to metaphors of nature, Tai Ji is a great choice for those with low energy and low mobility. This class promotes improved mobility, posture, muscle mass and tone, stamina, strength, and increased energy a non-stressful way. A gentle alternative for those seeking low impact exercise.
